Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into an ethnically diverse family. Madekwe is English but her father is Nigerian. She was raised on the southern part of London Council Estate, and then was a student at The Brit School aged 14. In London she attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting certificate was earned. She performed in various performances on stage during her time at school, including the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her acting career through the movie Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), with Colin Farrell. Her popularity resulted in her being cast as Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. Later, she appeared in six episodes Trexx & Flipside playing the character of Ollie. In 2008, the actress was offered Bambi as the main character on ITV2's comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was the main character in How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedy that was released in 2008. Performance credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her US debut in the series The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show ran just two episodes at The CW, and was later cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. Madekwe's departure from the series was officially announced in May of 2013. After two years as the main character she appeared as a guest in the very first episode of season three. From 2014-2016, Madekwe starred in the role of Tituba in the TV series Salem. Madekwe, her longtime partner, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. Together, they worked on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Goldberg also appeared alongside Madekwe on Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress is a member of a big family from Hamilton, Ontario. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty and four older brothers: Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's brothers, who were all very active, took part in hockey during the winter months and played baseball in the summers, meaning she basically grew up in baseball and arenas. Ashley did not walk; instead, she would dance. In the age of two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered a love for dancing after she started Baby Ballet. Ashley was a competitive dancer throughout the various divisions until she finished high school. She competed in ballet, tap, jazz and pointe, as well as acrobatics. Ashley took home the best soloist award at every major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention a few.
